Joining this year’s theme for International Women’s Day, #BreaktheBias, Sunday 13 March 2022 saw Juno ‘s first event in Singapore. An event in celebration and recognition of women. Juno collaborated with Wanton Seng’s Eating House, spotlighting two female bartenders, Debbie G Raymond and Emmiga Stella, who hail from Singapore’s cocktail bars, Ju Hua Tai and 3 of Cups for a women-only bar takeover at Wanton Seng’s.
Both these ladies worked their skills to create bespoke cocktails featuring Juno’s Monica’s Gin, which was apt given that Monica Brewster was known to champion the rights of women and arts and culture in New Zealand.
Doors opened at 11.30am with Debbie and Emmi showcasing their creative approach to cocktails, Converse High (a medley of Monica’s Gin, Non 6 Basil & Tomato, Osmanthus Cordial and Seaweed Tonic) and 4 of Cups (an ensemble of sweetness and tanginess of Monica’s Gin, Muyu Jasmine and citrus flavours). These were complimented with the delicious local fare offered at Wanton Seng.
Wanton Seng donated 10% of the event proceeds to Aware – a not-for-profit organisation that advocates for gender equality and provides critical support services for women in Singapore.
A great start for Juno’s foray into Singapore’s local bar & food scene!
